My Music

you've been warned

I do love to sing, and sometimes I seem to think it's a good idea to share that with the world... or at least with YouTube. Here are some of my favorite songs, sung by yours truly.

Christ, You Often Sat At Dinner

This is a favorite hymn, and reminds us that there is a place at the table for everybody.

God Of Love, We Take For Granted

The toilet hymn! I love this song, and wish I could up with some excuse to perform it at church! At first, it seems it might be goofy, but very quickly moves into a serious and important message.

O God, Creator Of All Things

This hymn thanks God for the beauty and practicality of the Creation within which we live, and reminds us that we must take better care of it...

Go, Move, Shift

I very much enjoy singing this.

Follow The Heron Home

This video is from a concert I did with one of the two Celtic groups of which I am a part.

One Tin Soldier / Seek Ye First

I think these songs go so well together thematically... and it helps that they share the same chord progression.

Blue Boat Home

This is a song about the beauty of the world in which we live. I sound okay but more notable to me is that my eyeliner is really on point.

Blessed Be Your Name

This is one of my favorite praise songs. Ignore the part where my voice cracks! This song is in G, so it requires the use of one black key. I do not venture into the world of black keys very often, and it was a challenge!

Who Can Turn The World On With Her Smile?

I recorded this when Mary Tyler Moore, one of my very favorite actors, passed. For those of you who don't recognize it, it's the theme song to her self-titled 1970s comedy.

The Gallowglass Jig

Gotta love thise Em jigs...

Christ, You Walked Among The Grain Fields

This was the first in quite a long series of social justice-focused hymns that I've added to my repertoire.

Let Your Kingdom Come

The Miller And The Lass

Apparently when I'm not singing songs about God and peace, I like to sing rather dirty songs. I'd love to get to sing this with someone who could actually strum something decent-sounding on the guitar.

I Will Worship / You Are Holy

I recorded this somewhat surreptitiously on my laptop when an old roommate and I sang this for a worship service in New Jersey. I'm the second voice that comes in, but we do trade parts back and forth.
